The Boar Report

Boys Soccer played Loomis Chaffee at home on Wednesday the 7th. Playing with a lot of heart, the boys were unable to beat Loomis and lost 2-1 in a tough game. Next, the team traveled to Massachusetts to play archrival Deerfield Academy on the 10th. The boys lost 2-0. With this game marking the end of the season, the boys ended up with a 4-12-1 record.

Playing at home on the 7th, Girls Soccer faced a tough Williston Northampton team. Williston pulled ahead and won 1-0 over the girls. Saturday the 11th’s game was against rival Deerfield Academy. The game ended with a heartbreaking 1-1 tie. The girl’s season ended with an 8-7-2 record.

With a big game on the line, Volleyball faced Taft on the 7th at home. The girls played well but lost in four games, 28-30, 21-30, 30-26, 28-26. Having to travel up to Deerfield on the 10th, the boars were looking to beat their rivals in a match that would determine Choate’s seeding in the New England Tournament. The team worked hard but lost 28-30, 30-28, 27-30,28-30. The girl’s regular season ended with a record of 12-5, and played Andover on Wednesday the 14th.

Field Hockey traveled up to Deerfield on Saturday the 10th to face their rival, Deerfield. The team was unable to break the tough the Deerfield squad, and lost 4-1. Their regular season record ended at 10-6, and the girls played in the New England Playoffs on the 14th.

Football traveled up to Deerfield on the 10th. The game started off to a great start with a touchdown pass to Mike Ryce ’08. Brandon Basso ’08 was next to score with a one yard touchdown run to make the score 14-0. Deerfield and Choate were locked in a stalemate after halftime with Choate’s defense keeping Deerfield’s offence at bay. The game ended with a Choate 14-7 win. The boys’ season ended with an impressive 5-2-1 record.
