The Early Years: Claire grew up playing tennis. Ever since she was little, she would play with her family. “My mom used to always go out on the court with me and my brothers. We used to play family doubles.” As a freshman at Choate, Claire joined the tennis team.
Memorable Moment: Last year, Claire’s junior year, Claire and Chloe Gettinger ’09 played in the New England tournament. They entered the season undefeated and emerged as a top team.
Warm-ups: Claire, along with the rest of the team, likes to listen to music to get pumped up before a game. The team’s favorites include “Fresh Azimiz” and “Let’s Go.” Claire also likes to give a pep talk to encourage the team before each match.
Post-game: After a hard round of tennis, the girls like to soak up the sun with Claire’s mom’s cupcakes and popsicles, courtesy of team manager Guy Dupont ’09.
Offseason: When she’s not playing tennis, Claire plays varsity basketball and soccer for Choate. Other than that, she claims that “Sports-wise, I do pretty much everything.” She does a lot of snowboarding and likes hanging out with friends.
Next Year: At Dartmouth next year, Claire hopes to be a walk-on to the Division 1 team. If not, she’s looking forward to clubs or intramural tennis.
