Measures Taken to Aid Senior Citizens

Wallingford is now looking for new ways to improve the lives of its senior citizens. One initiative is assisting seniors with transportation to and from everyday activities, including social events, grocery shopping, and doctor’s appointments. Six-months worth of research on town transportation has gone into this project. The result is a literary guide called “How Do I Get There? A Transportation Guide for Wallingford Residents.” The guide includes details on all the forms and agencies of transportation in Wallingford. This will have a beneficial impact on the lives of many town residents, and will serve as a more simple replacement for the yellow pages.

File Sharing Debate Rages on in CT

The debate on file-sharing and music piracy is still raging. There have been at least one hundred and eighty cases brought forth in state regarding the issue; even in Connecticut, the music industry is working to gain more control over its product distribution. At least one hundred and twenty four of these cases have been settled out of court. Defendants were given the option to talk to the RIAA. The vast majority of the cases have already been settled, but new ones are always showing up. People who use P2P networks to illegally download music are not about to stop. Each month, 243 million files are downloaded illegally.
