With the warm weather all around, we wanted to focus on how to best dress for spring, be it with the perfect tie or the best pair of sandals or by taking our earlier advice and dressing like Cyril.
Cyril:
I am sad to say Dress Like Cyril day was hardly a success, however, I did not expect it to be and was not overly disappointed. Leading off of Alice’s spring theme, let’s talk about ties. I am not going to ask you to wear “sock ties,” because I know Mr. Armour and I are the only two people who are going to wear them. However, I am begging everyone to stop wearing Repp Stripe and/or Vineyard Vine ties to every single event. The Repp Stripe thing is just a little worn, and the subdued colours of Vineyard Vines do not really look good against a blue blazer, if the truth must be told.
Keep it up with the green pants. They are hilarious.
Last, a piece of advice. Find a nice raincoat that you can wear all spring and summer, regardless of whether it is raining outside or not.
Really, I think I am talking about a windbreaker but I do not know.

Now that spring is finally here, it is time to start embracing some of the latest and greatest spring trends. Personally, I am fan of the colour-fade look – from the actually tie-dyed C & C tank tops to the medley of multi-coloured silk dresses at Intermix, wearing coloured clothing is great way to brighten up your wardrobe. Add a pair of simple wedges to your dress and you have an easy summer outfit.
However, I would caution wedge-wearers to be wary of those which wrap around the ankle: not only do you have to have a certain kind of leg to wear those, but they also just look ridiculous with things like really short shorts. Here is something to remember: not everything that is cool looks good with everything. Another really fantastic look this spring is the return of the lightweight scarf; it is a great alternative to a cardigan and also an easy way to make an outfit a little more colourful. Headbands are a good addition to any outfit, be it a thin leather or a Blair Waldorf-esque bow. Scarves serve as great headbands, particularly with hair pulled back.
Finally, let me commend all daring enough to wear high waists and long dresses! I certainly appreciate the nerve necessary to support any less popular trend.
