Recent accomplishments: Dan is a three-year varsity member of the squad. As a sophomore, Dan quickly made an impact on the team. Now as a senior, he earned the honor of leading the team as one of three captains. Dan, recently coming off an injury that sidelined him for the first two game of the season, is back on the field looking as good as ever. His leadership and experience will only help the Boars to make a push to the New England Bowl Game.
Most memorable moment: “I will always remember being part of the ’05 squad that finished the Deerfield Day sweep. We beat them 14-0.” The D-Day sweep has been a unforgettable moment for many Choaties and Dan is proud to be a part of that achievement.
Off-season training: During the off-season Dan attends football camps, strength and conditioning sessions at Chicago Acceleration, a training club near his hometown. In addition to football, he is also the captain of this year’s Volleyball team. Thus, in the summer, Dan plays volleyball and trains on the shores of Lake Michigan to stay in shape.
Season goals: “Beat Deerfield, and win the New England Bowl Championship.” At 2-1 so far this year, the team will need to defeat the rest of its opponents, and hope that other teams around New England do not go undefeated. That way, Choate could perhaps match up against Andover once again at the final game.
Future Aspirations: In addition to playing college football, Dan would “like to have a football-related profession, such as a trainer or sports agent,” said Dan. His love for sports and dedication to his teams has taken up a big part of his everyday life.
Game-day routine: “Always have a cold shower before putting on my equipment,” added Dan. The football team also made a nice addition to the boys’ locker room by adding a sound system to galvanize everyone and every team before games and practices.
