Oct. 12 - A plumbing crisis in Logan Monroe is avoided by quick action by the students and faculty. Although the crisis was potentially dangerous, the damage was minimal.

Oct. 11 - Choate decided to change its seal design from the tree symbol, to the current design. At the time, the design for the new seal remained undecided.

Oct. 9 - Scuba Diving was announced as a brand new sport at Choate. Instituted as a once-a-week activity, scuba diving was the equivalent of one season of athletics and was offered in all three seasons. Optional Scuba diving trips were offered on the weekends.

Oct. 13 - The News asked whether Choate should have inter-house “P-cup” style sports. Surprisingly, the majority of students said that inter-house sporting events would be too time consuming. Regardless, the program is eventually put into action.
