April 4th, Democratic United States Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island spoke to U.S. History students and the greater Choate community about changing national security interests of U.S. defense and foreign policy matters in the face of international terrorist threats.

Dean of Students Lolly Hand, after her 14 years at Choate, announced that she would be leaving her position as dean to become head of the Upper School at Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.

25 Years Ago

April 24th, 1981. Mr. Dey formed the Curriculum Review Committee headed by Latin and Greek teacher Ms. Joanne Sullivan to review a curriculum that had not been studied since 1970.

50 Years Ago

April 14th, 1956. Mr. Nicol Smith, Choate ’29, a noted lecturer and world traveler, delivered a lecture on April 15th, 1956 on his trips to Bavaria.
