To the Editor: I am writing to take exception to the use of the word “sucks” in the headline of an article [“My Life Sucks More, Trust Me,” Opinion page] in last week’s News. I realize that there may be a generational difference of opinion about the appropriateness of this word; indeed, when I was a teenager eons ago, this word was considered as equally heinous as its still infamous rhyming sibling whose name starts with the letter “F.” While times have certainly changed, I would still argue that such a word is not in keeping with the high quality of the writing in The News. The bottom line: Please get rid of such trash talk, as it demeans your paper and makes Choate students look like a bunch of boorish chumps.
