Resident Inducted into Horseshoe Hall of Fame

Dave Lick, a 68-year-old lifelong Wallingford resident, was recently elected into Connecticut’s Horseshoe Hall of Fame. Scoring a ringer on 60 percent of his throws, he puts the horseshoe around the stake more than half the time.

Lick, ranked fourth in the state, began playing horseshoes with friends over 20 years ago. He attends regular horseshoe competitions, but only sees the sport as a hobby.

Dispute Between Cities Over Dumping Ground

Filled with couches, mattresses, televisions, and drum sets, 108 Hanover St. in Wallingford has become a dumping ground for used bulky items.
